This picture started with the figurine from an antique mall. The fan is a compilation of several images from the internet. The ammunition crate I’ve used before and the background is from reference photos shot in Arizona.
Actually, that is the third background I painted. First was a purple scarf draped around the crate, which was distracting, next was a plain background, which lacked interest, and last, what you see here.
I wanted to convey depth to the painting without detracting from the main elements. It also gives the subject “a place” to be. |
